Originally offered up via mail order back in 2012, Karz Works’ incredible Abadorn figure finally returns this month in a Medicom Toy exclusive “Inagotei” colourway! Standing at a lofty 11.5″ tall, the fully articulated human locust hybrid has once again been cast up in a black vinyl, this time around coming with a choice selection of beetle inspired metallic sprays. Up for grabs in Japan through the Medicom Toy store and on Rakuten overseas until July 31st, the “Intagotei” Abadorn has been priced at 12,960yen ($127) plus shipping…

It’s been a while since we last heard anything from the ongoing Star Wars Vintage Sofubi series from Medicom Toy, so it came with great pleasure this week to find that the fourth and fifth releases have finally dropped in the form of C3P0 and R2D2! Based on the original 1970’s figures released in Japan, these authentic reinterpretations have once again sculpted by Bear Model with colour design from Frenzy, coming in at around 9.5″ and 6.2″ respectively. Available to Japanese customers through the Medicom Toy store priced at 9,000yen ($88) each, overseas orders will unfortunately once again need to be placed through forwarding service M-World. Celebrating the release of the first Godzilla film in 10 years, Medicom Toy have teamed up with a number of Japan’s leading toy manufacturers for the launch of the Godzilla Vinyl Wars series! Initially featuring a total of 5 very different designs (clockwise from top left); the Destoroyah Ver. from Marmit, Godzilla 1962 (Kingodzi) from Butanohana, BULLMARK type (Blue) from M1GO, the Original Godzilla from Bear Model and the Giant pretty Godzilla from Sofubilife, the diverse range of figures have been priced between just 4,000yen ($39) and 10,000yen ($98) each. Leo Sofvi Bouya has just announced release details for the fourth edition of his hugely popular Guzo Kaijyu!  Standing at an impressive 10.5″ tall, the “idol monster” was inspired by the above passage from Friedrich Nietzsche’s “Twilight of the Idols”, featuring a unique blend of classic kaiju and ancient deities wrapped up in one huge, must-have figure. Coming cast in a dark chocolate brown vinyl with an exquisite assortment of metallic sprays and hand painted detailing (we’d expect no less from one of Medicom’s chief colour designers!), the run has been held back strictly for Instgram users this time around- and luckily for us, International applications are welcome! The end of another month means yet another gigantic batch of releases from Medicom Toy, and whilst we won’t be able to run through them all today, we thought we’d kick things off with not 1, not 2, but 3 jaw-dropping exclusives from Paul Kaiju and Toy Art Gallery! Here’s a quick rundown of the trio currently up for grabs…

“Golden Treasure” Slugbeard- Kaiju’s incredible 10″ tall monstrosity sees it’s second ever painted edition and the first to be released outside of TAG. Cast in what appears to be a brown vinyl with a plethora of gold and metallic sprays, Slugbeard comes complete with matching spike ball accessory and chain. Available via open preorder until August 31st priced at 20,000yen ($212.89 worldwide), Japanese customers can find the figure in the Medicom Toy store, whilst overseas orders are going to need to be placed through Rakuten here.

“Thirst Quench” Gacha Mini Set- Marking the very first painted run of Kaiju’s adorable gacha-style minis, the sub 3″ figures have been produced in a green vinyl with a host of intricate metallic sprays and hand painted detailing. Once again available via open preorder until August 31st, Japanese customers can snag them here for 10,000yen, whilst anyone overseas is going to need to head over to Rakuten and cough up the slightly higher price of $106.44.

“Blueberry Ice” Vertebrata- Kaiju and BLObPUS‘ collaborative figure returns for what has got to be one of her most stunning colourways yet, the rather aptly titled Blueberry Ice! Cast in a mesmerising pearlescent vinyl, the 8″ figure has been treated to a mix of black, blue and gold sprays in BLObPUS’ instantly recognisable style. Available via open preorder until August 31st, Japanese customers can find her here for 15,000yen and overseas here for $159.67.

With the success of the recent DC Retro Sofubi Collection tucked firmly under their (utility) belts, Medicom Toy are proud to reveal that they’ve secured a license with Marvel for a similar ongoing series- kicking things off this month with everybody’s favourite neighbourhood spider, Spiderman! Sculpted by Bear Model, the vintage-style figure stands at a lofty 8.8″ tall, complete with articulation in the head, arms and legs. Authentically painted in Spidey’s iconic primary red and blue and housed in a window display box, preorders for Japanese customers can be found in the Medicom Toy store (20,000yen), whilst overseas orders can be placed through Rakuten right here for $84.92 plus shipping…

Hot off the heels of their first wave of Fake Spectreman sofubi back in May (here), the guys over at AWESOME TOY are proud to announce that another 2 pachi renditions of the super-cyborg are now up for grabs courtesy of Medicom Toy! Officially licensed by P-Productions, the 9.5″ tall soft vinyl figures feature the same body variants as the first release, albeit with new head sculpts and paint apps closely based on 2 of Spectreman’s many bootleg guises. Currently up for grabs in Japan through the Medicom Toy store priced at 9,000yen ($89) each, overseas customers are going to need to hit up Rakuten here to bag theirs…

Marmit returns this month with another classic sci-fi rendered in kaiju form, this time around taking on the alien from the real-world Pascagoula Mississippi abductions in October, 1973! Based on the infamous descriptions from abductees Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker, the towering 9.5″ tall figure features the same wrinkled skin, neckless head, carrot-like growths, and haunting robot-like appearance as their claimed abductor. Available via open preorder until August 31st priced at just 5,250yen ($55.68 worldwide), Japanese customers can find the figure in the Medicom Toy store, whilst overseas orders are going to need to be placed through Rakuten here.

Continuing their celebration of the first Godzilla film in 10 years, Medicom Toy have once again teamed up with a number of Japan’s leading toy manufacturers for the second wave in their ongoing series, Godzilla Vinyl Wars! Featuring a total of 7 very different designs (clockwise from top left); the Bullmark J-Tale Green Version from M1Go (top), the 1962 Version from Bear Model, the Giant Hedorah from Sofubi Life, the Destoroyah from Marmit, the CCP 2001 Version from GMK, the 1964 “MOTHGODZI” Version from Marmit and the 1955 “Godzilla Strikes Back” Version from Marusan, the diverse range of figures have been priced between just 6,000yen ($59) and 10,000yen ($98) each. Popular Japanese TV show character and internet meme Gakki-Kun has been realised as a soft vinyl figure courtesy of Pico Pico and Medicom Toy! Originally debuting at Wonderfestival over the weekend in an exclusive “Red/White” colourway, the “2.5-dimensional human body muscle model with ultra scientific interpretation” (a literal translation!) comes in his original “Prop Model” colorway for this standard run, standing at around 8.5″ and coming with 5 points of articulation. Available via open preorder until August 31st priced at just 6,453yen ($63.36 worldwide), Japanese customers can find the figure in the Medicom Toy store, whilst overseas orders are going to need to be placed through Rakuten right here.

Standing at around 9″ tall and coming with 5 points of articulation, the officially licensed Red Baron pachi (bootleg) has been produced in the same bright red sofubi as before, this time around coming with a rather more vivid choice of blue and gold sprays. Originally unveiled during Wonderfestival back in February, the all-new Cosmos Alien series from Medicom Toy is now finally up for grabs! Featuring the previously released Octopus (Ooze-It) and Fish designs, these original 1970’s gacha designs have been joined by 4 all-new sculpts from Mirock Toy’s Kaneko Yowohei; the Squid, Sea Urchin, Blob Fish and Sea Horse. Produced in a super-squishy soft vinyl and packed in an authentic Cosmos gacha box with collector card and ooze plugs, Octopus, Fish, Squid, Sea Urchin and Blob Fish are currently available in the Medicom Toy store for just 2,315yen ($21) a piece, whilst the unrevealed Seahorse has been reserved for those who buy the whole set. With Spiderman marking the first release in Medicom Toy‘s Marvel Retro Sofubi Collection just a couple of months back, the Japanese toy giant returns with Wave 2… featuring none other than Iron Man and Ultron! Based on what appears to be legendary artist John Buscema’s take on the classic characters (he was of course the original creator of Ultron alongside Roy Thomas), the near 10″ tall figures have been sculpted by BearModel with coloring from Monsters Stock Farm. Currently available to Japanese customers through the Medicom store, international customers can find the pair on the Rakuten Global Market right here for just 8,640yen ($80) each plus shipping. Up for grabs until November 30th, shipping is expected in late February 2015…
